Walking in Kamakura : Tokeiji temple


It's a long time to visit Kamakura from the last time. I came to Kamakura and took a walk..

I visited Tokeiji temple first..

About 720 years ago, Hojo Tokimune's wife, Kakuzan Shidouni, opend the Tokeiji temple in 1285. Tokeiji temple is well known as the divorce temple for the women..

Main purpose here, was to pray to Suigetsu Kannon that are enshrined in the Suigetsu hall..

Suigetsu Kannon is 34 cm in height. It was surprisingly small statue of Buddha. It is said that Kannon is watching the moon reflected on the water. Itseems to have been seen the sight of your own when viewed from the bottom. It was the elegant figure statue..

Almost of the land are narrow in Kamakura, Some of the graves are dug in the rock.
The tomb of Kakuzan-ni, who is the founder of the temple, and the tomb of Youdou-ni, were made such a way.

 Flowers of  Clematis were in bloom n the garden.

At Mt. Rokko farm. The cool wind was blowing. The temperature is chilly lower compared to the lower bound. However that is only in the shade. There are many animals at the bottom area of this photo. The sheep are free in the range. There were several babies born recently.

The Mt. Rokko farm is located at the top of Mt. Rokko.

2013/08/11 Oga lotus in the Negarami-Shinden of Hamura

Oga lotus in the Negarami-Shinden of Hamura is now in bloom.

The Negarami-Shinden is the place to unfamiliar much, but it is known where there is only paddy in Hamura. It becomes the Tulip Festival venue in April.

It is the best time to go to see the Oga lotus in early morning, but it is possible to see the flowers in bloom for the time being even in the daytime.

Not only Oga lotus, normal lotus are also in bloom, and small yellow flowers of floating hearts are also in bloom.
